Durban South Africa Holiday

If you have to ask what there is to do in Durban, water-wise, then you might have come to the wrong place! Durban is noted for its sea and sun. This is the famed Bay of Plenty where the weather report is pretty much always balmy to sweltering with isolated showers, so take your cozzie* and sunscreen and you’re set for a good time. You can swim, tan, surf, paddle and dive. If you don’t like the beach or ocean, there are plenty of land-based activities for you to enjoy in Durban.

Take a trip to uShaka Marine World to see what lives below the sea. They claim it’s one of the world’s finest.

Go Cycling if you’re into mountain, of off-road, cycling, head for Ciba Gorge cycling park.  Ciba Gorge has a full mountain bike course, including easy riding, fast and technical single track, all through natural grassland and bushveld or take a casual cycle along the Durban beachfront promonade.

Or walk the city with a green belt called the D-Moss – Durban Metropolitan Open Space System. It links nine parks, including Berman Bush, Virginia Bush and Yellowwood parks which have natural bush and great birding opportunities.

Share in the magic of the Golden Mile with a self-catering apartment at the Durban Sea on the Marine Parade. Use your fully serviced sea-facing unit as a base from which to explore the aquarium and other amusements on your doorstep Aug 20th – Aug 27,2010 for $298.  This is a member benefit special price with a GRN Travel Membership.
